Creating resin projects with embedded photos can be a unique way to preserve memories. Here's a simplified guide to help you avoid common problems like ink bleeding and resin absorption while embedding pictures in resin.

Steps to Follow:

• Seal Your Photo with Modge Podge

Before embedding, apply 2-3 thin layers of Modge Podge to your photo. This protects it from absorbing resin and prevents ink from bleeding, particularly important for inkjet-printed photos.

• Lamination for Extra Protection

Laminating your photo seals both sides, offering extra protection. Trim the edges, leaving a small border around the photo to ensure resin doesn't seep in. Laminating is particularly effective for inkjet prints.

• Avoiding Ink Bleeding

Inkjet prints are prone to bleeding when exposed to liquids. Besides sealing with Mod Podge, you can add clear tape over the photo as an additional layer of protection. Printing on thicker, high-quality photo paper can also minimize ink bleeding.

• Embedding the Photo in Resin

Once your resin is mixed, pour a thin layer into your mould. Position your sealed or laminated photo on top, then pour another layer to fully cover it. Use a heat gun, Blow Torch or Isopropyl Alcohol (Bubble Popping spray) to remove air bubbles from the surface.

• Finishing Your Piece

After the resin cures (typically 24–48 hours), remove the project from the mould. If the edges are uneven or rough, you can sand them down for a polished finish.

Common Problems and Solutions:

•  Air Bubbles:Stir resin slowly to reduce bubbles, and use a heat gun to pop any on the surface.
• Cloudy Resin: Ensure proper mixing and work in a dry space to prevent cloudiness.
